  • Does replacing the headliner actually fix the sag permanently?

My Camry’s roof lining has been sagging for months now and I’ve been putting it off because I wasn’t sure if it’s worth fixing on a car this age. It’s a 2011 with 180k on it but mechanically it’s solid and I plan to keep it a few more years, so I’d rather sort the interior than drive around looking like I live in it. I found royalprinceautocare.com/service/car-roof-lining-repair while searching for options and it got me wondering about the actual process. Is it always a full replacement or do some shops just glue the old fabric back up? I’ve read that the foam backing degrades over time in this climate and that’s why it sags in the first place, so gluing seems pointless. Also curious about the material they use, is it the same as factory or is aftermarket stuff actually better for heat resistance? Would appreciate any firsthand experience because I don’t want to pay for something that fails again in six months.
