How do I know if the battery I bought is the real one and not a fake?
Last week I changed the battery in my 2016 Toyota Hilux, and now I have a small worry that I cannot shake. I paid a fair price at a shop in an industrial area because a friend recommended it, but when I got home I looked at the label again and the printing seemed a little light, and the sticker with the date was slightly crooked. It probably means nothing, but I started thinking about all the stories I have heard about fake or repainted batteries being sold with a famous name on the box. My brother says I am being dramatic and that if it starts fine, then it is fine. My neighbor says fake batteries are real and that they usually die in a few months, and that you should always ask for the invoice with the shop stamp. A friend who works in spare parts told me to check the serial code, the weight, the quality of the case and the warranty card, because copies often feel lighter and cheaper. I read a page on to see why people choose certain brands here, and it made me think about how many drivers ask for the same name, which also makes it easy for copies to appear. Since then I have been wondering how Genuine Amaron batteries popular among UAE drivers can be told apart from imitations without being an expert. My questions are easy. Is there a code on the battery that I can check, or does the shop have to confirm it? Should the warranty card be filled in with my car details on the day of purchase? Does a real battery feel noticeably heavier than a copy in your hands? And if I think I got a bad one, how long do I have to go back to the shop before they refuse to listen? Please share what you do when you buy. Thanks for reading.
