Does the same E23 battery behave differently in a hot country like ours?
A small thing has been bothering me since my last battery died, and I would like to hear from people who have been through it. I own a 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer, and my old battery lasted only about eighteen months before it started cranking slowly. The first one I bought was chosen only by price, and the shop owner said “E23, it fits, don’t worry.” After it failed, I felt a bit silly for not asking what the numbers really meant. My cousin says specs are the same everywhere, so a battery from a cold country should work fine here. My neighbor says that is not true, because heat ages the inside of a battery much faster, and the same model can last half as long in summer. A friend at work told me the capacity, the starting power, the size and the terminal layout matter, but the quality of the build and the warranty matter just as much. Another colleague said to forget the numbers and just change it every two years. I read a page on to understand the basics, and it listed the main figures for this size, which I saved in my notes. Still, I wanted to hear how this works in real life, so I am asking about Quality Varta E23 battery specs explained for UAE cars, in simple words and not in a long technical talk. My questions are easy. Which spec should I care about most for hot summers, the capacity or the starting power? Does a higher starting power number help at all in a country with no real winter? How can I tell if a shop is giving me a fresh one and not one that sat in storage for a year? And how many summers did your E23 last before it started to weaken? Please share your experience. Thanks for reading.
