  • Do I actually need a spill pallet or am I overthinking this

We just shifted our small workshop to a new unit in Sharjah and the landlord mentioned something about proper storage for our drums before the municipality inspection comes around. Right now we have two barrels of used oil just sitting on the concrete floor near the back wall and honestly it never crossed my mind that this could be an issue until he brought it up. A guy from another company told me he got flagged last year and had to sort things out quickly, said the inspector specifically looked at whether chemicals were sitting on bare ground. So now Im looking at options and the spill pallet 2 drum type seems to be what most people in our situation go for, but I wanted to ask here first since the prices vary a lot and I dont want to buy something that doesnt meet the actual requirement. Is it mainly about catching leaks or does it also matter for how the drums are positioned and moved around? And do these things handle the summer heat here without the plastic going brittle after a year or two? Any feedback from people running similar setups would really help, I just want to get this done properly without overcomplicating it.
