Supercharger whine changed pitch, should I be worried?
Noticed something odd on my F Type last week. The supercharger whine used to be this consistent smooth sound but now it’s got a slightly different pitch at certain revs, almost like it’s strained. No warning lights, no loss of power that I can feel, but I know these engines well enough to sense when something’s off. Could be nothing, could be the belt, could be something internal which would be a nightmare. I’ve read that ignoring supercharger noises on these cars is a bad idea because by the time it actually fails you’re looking at a rebuild. I’m based in Sharjah and came across 800 Sayara Jaguar repair while looking for someone who actually knows these engines, but I wanted to ask here first whether anyone has experienced a change in supercharger sound and what it turned out to be. Also is it worth getting it looked at immediately or can it wait until the next service?
